Kelsey Calhoun MS

Associate Clinician

Currently accepting new clients

Kelsey strives to meet people where they are and facilitate positive change and growth. She sees therapy as collaborative endeavor between therapist and client,  to recognize and shift stories and patterns that underlie how each of us experience the world. Processing the experiences and contexts that have shaped us, and the meaning we have made from them, can help build more emotional well-being and relationship health.

Kelsey uses an eclectic approach, drawing from Narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems therapy, Relational Cultural therapy, Emotion Focused therapy, Somatic therapy, and Buddhist psychology. While there are many labels and modalities, she views the willingness of the therapist and the client to work together, make discoveries, and consider things in new ways as a key part of the work.

Kelsey is a Vermonter recently returned after a number of years, having built a career in science communication before realizing that interacting with people was her favorite part of the job. She enjoys meeting people from many different places and paths of life and values difference and curiosity in her counseling work. At VCR, Kelsey works with adults, older adolescents, families, and couples.

Kelsey works out of the Burlington office, and accepts Medicaid, BCBS, Cigna, and MVP.
