Clinician Spotlight: Greg Tovella
Greg (he/him) discovered his love for helping people while serving inpatient communities as a mental health tech in Illinois. He has brought his passion for people and dedication to creating a nonjudgmental and therapeutic space with him to Vermont. Greg describes his practice as providing the safety and support of a hug; His natural warmth and commitment to collaborating with his clients in a personal and meaningful way provides a strong foundation for clients to be able to talk about things they spend the rest of their lives avoiding.
With experience in play therapy, Greg’s practice highlights how engaging both body and mind is an effective tool in facilitating both therapeutic conversation and helping clients brainstorm actionable solutions to their problems. He is always up for a board game, especially chess. Along with his love of games. Along with his love of games-as-therapy, Greg uses humor as a central part of his practice. He has a collection of jokebooks that he uses to keep both colleagues and clients laughing when they need it the most.
Greg is proficient in CBT and DBT but focuses on creating an individualized approach for each of his clients. He specializes in adolescents, teens, and adults who are dealing with things like but not limited to anger, anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and self-esteem issues.
